There are two types of Level B quarters: B₁ and B₂. Level B₁ quarters are single-occupancy quarters for Department Heads, containing a conference room, a living area, and a sleeping area. Two food processors, one in the living area and one in the conference room, provide for private dining Head facilities include a Jacuzzi tub with a shower as well as a sonic shower.

Wide latitude is allowed in decorating these quarters. Individual environmental controls allow for simulation of home world humidity, temperature, and light spectrum. Eight Level B, quarters are located in the primary hull; five additional Level B, quarters are located throughout the ship for supercargo personnel who meet assignment criteria.

Level B₂ quarters are single occupancy quarters for Lieutenant Commanders and Commanders (or equivalent), containing a living area and a sleeping area. A food processor is located in the living area for private dining. Head facilities include a Jacuzzi tub with a shower as well as a sonic shower. Wide latitude is allowed permanently assigned ship’s personnel in decorating these quarters. Individual environmental controls allow for simulation of home world humidity, temperature, and light spectrum.

Twenty-seven Level B₂ quarters are located throughout the ship; five additional Level B₂ quarters are located throughout the ship for supercargo personnel who meet assignment criteria.
